What's Happening at Plano Centre: Renovation, Milestone Anniversaries & Awards

North Pre-Function.jpg

We have a few things to celebrate here at Plano Centre this summer. First, Plano Centre’s long awaited $2.8 million renovation has finally started and is expected to be complete by May of 2017! The primary goal is to lighten and brighten. The entire interior and exterior is being repainted and there will be new carpeting and furniture throughout the building. Four dramatic new chandeliers are being added to the main hallway outside the entrances to Collinwood, our largest meeting space. The chandeliers along with additional lighting in the ceilings will increase the light levels throughout the building tremendously. The restrooms in the east and west hallways will be completely redone with marble tiles, new flooring, sinks, mirrors and partitions. The sound system in our second largest room, Windhaven, is being upgraded and new motorized shades are being installed so the room can be completely darkened for corporate presentations. In addition, this room will include laminate wood flooring to please social events. All of our remaining meeting rooms will receive new shades and white boards that double as screens for audio visual presentations.

We’re also celebrating two of our outstanding employee’s milestone work anniversaries. Brian Smith, Operations Manager, celebrated his 25th year with Plano Centre in June and our Technology Services Manager, Collin Kennedy, celebrates his 25th anniversary this October. Thank you both for your continued service to Plano Centre in assuring our events go off without a hitch!

Plano Centre’s Director of Sales, Jessica Marbut, received a Star Award from the Dallas Fort Worth Association Executives in July. The Star Award is awarded to committee members by their committee chairs in recognition of outstanding support of the committee’s goals and objectives. The Star Award was presented for her service on the Social Committee in coordinating the association’s networking events. We’re proud of Jessica’s service and commitment to the travel & hospitality industry!
