To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Collin County Mental Health Symposium - we're expanding!! Now the North Texas Mental Health Symposium, we hope to reach an even wider audience with mental health awareness and resources.
We're excited to bring you sessions for first responders, those working in the justice system, social workers, school staff, mental health professionals, and more.
The goal of the symposium is to bring together all the community entities that treat and interact with persons suffering from mental illness. By bringing them together, we hope to develop a better networking relationship to provide improved service for those with mental illness.
Who Should Attend
The participants include Mental Health providers, Hospitals, EMT’s Firefighters, Law Enforcement, Attorneys, Judges, Detention Officers and more. These are the first line people out there who can make a difference.
Conference Objective
“The Symposium” sets out with 4 objectives:
1) Bringing together the stakeholders – those who encounter persons with mental illness. Just by coming together and talking ideas and shared thoughts can bring about ways to improve the system.
2) Developing teamwork to fill the cracks of the system, so that no person with Mental Illness goes without needed services and treatment.
3) Work as a team towards Education and Solutions.
4) Making sure that the cost of the Symposium is always nominal and of great value to increase participation at the symposium, thus increasing participation in ideas and solutions.
